THE CROW

CyFi Fest 2026 begins with a journey through the shadows, the strange, and the unforgettable. Before our opening feature, we present a special Out of Competition Retrospective celebrating three Cypriot genre short films that have travelled across the globe, leaving their mark on international festival audiences:

• YKAN (2016), directed by Andreas Sheitanis
• Backroom Blues (2022), directed by Andreas Kyriacou

These bold, atmospheric works showcase the power and imagination of local filmmakers who dared to explore darker corners and stranger frequencies. Their stories have crossed borders. Now they return home to open Cyprus’ first genre film festival.
