Submit your fantastique short film!
CyFi Fest 2026 invites fearless filmmakers to submit your short films for consideration, taking place 20–22 February in the historic Pantheon Cinema, Nicosia. Deadline for submitting films is February 5th, 2026!
We’re looking for imaginative shorts in science fiction, fantasy, horror, thriller and fanfilms from the Mediterranean and beyond. Let CyFi be the stage where your story meets an audience that celebrates daring, visionary filmmaking.
What We’re Looking For:
- Short films completed on or after 1 January 2024
- Maximum duration: 30 minutes
- Genre focus: sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thriller, fan film
- English subtitles required for non-English films
Films from Mediterranean & Middle Eastern regions and international submissions welcome and are eligible for the Best Mediterranean Film Award!

Selected films will screen at Pantheon during the festival and be part of an unforgettable genre cinema celebration. You’ll connect with fellow filmmakers, attend masterclasses with acclaimed guests, and share your work with passionate audiences.
Awards & Recognition
CyFi offers awards in short film categories, including:
- Best Local Short Film (production services prize), for shorts directed by filmmakers based in Cyprus
- Best Mediterranean Short Film (post-production services prize), for shorts directed by filmmakers from the Mediterranean (including Middle East and Eastern Europe
- Audience Award, for short films directed by filmmakers from our Galaxy!
